Angel of Anywhere.

"An empathetic stripper plays therapist to the many damaged clientele and co-workers who frequent the popular Anywhere Bar."

So I made a movie. Well, a short film. Still, I worked super hard on it and it has been months in the making. I didn't know what story I wanted to tell, I just knew I wanted to tell one, and then I met a filmmaker at the Atlanta Film Festival who knew some writers and it went from there. And boy was it expensive. Below you'll find some more info and some behind the scenes stills (The tattoos are fake, the makeup artist did a fantastic job!) Presently, I only have a trailer to showcase, but the film is being submitted to festivals around the world now.  At some point I'll post about which ones we're going to!

I wrote a blog entry discussing a little more about the very beginning of how this movie came to be, if you're interested!

The Cast.

Some of these faces you might recognize.

Axel Roldos - Angel of Anywhere - Cast

Besides mine, obviously. And what an incredibly talented group of people they are. It was such a gift to be able to work with and learn from these guys. I won't give too much away about our roles (but you can know that I'm the lead!) and I star alongside Briana Evigan (Step Up 2: The Streets, Sorority Row) & Ser'Darius Blain (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, When the Game Stands Tall) who play Michelle & Brian respectively. Krystal Conway, whom I've had the pleasure of studying with in class plays Jenna. David A. Gregory plays DC and Adam Carr plays "Drunk Guy"; these two guys are hilarious and I think you'll enjoy watching them. Nihan Gur plays Alexxx in Wonderland - that alone gives you something to look forward to.

Something else I really enjoy that ended up being pretty coincidental is how extremely diverse our cast is, which wasn't exactly intentional. Not that this will be the first innovative production to feature that, but I still really enjoy how all of that just kind of worked out. The plethora of experience everyone brought, from other indie projects to huge blockbuster productions, also enriched the experience for me. I couldn't be any more happy with how everyone took a chance and rose to occasion to deliver an awesome performance in this movie. They'll never know how much they've contributed to my own growth on this journey.

The Producers.

The people that helped make it possible.

I struggled for months trying to manifest this desire to make something. You might be surprised how difficult it is to make all the pieces come together. I didn't have a story in mind, or even a concept really, I just knew I wanted to act and I wasn't interested in waiting for permission anymore. That's where these guys come in. I met James at the Atlanta Film Festival, where he was screening a documentary film he directed, Digital Edition, and we spoke at length about my desire to find a way to move forward in my career. The whole thing is really one crazy long story, I even wrote this brief blog about it, and he connected me with everyone else who would become intimately involved with making this movie even happen. Everything, from the writing to the hiring and casting, was entirely their sorcery.

Well, there was a lot of help from other people, too. Really, there is a lot to list, but a special thank you to:

Nan Dutton, my wonderful acting instructor - Jeff Fisher, another uber talented director - Peter Pasternack, my close friend and huge supporter - Tim Taylor, for helping with some final details - Jeffrey Reddick, who asked a lot of good questions lol. (We can all thank Jeffrey for writing Final Destination, the first movie to challenge me and consider becoming a storyteller!)

Thank you, everyone, for making this a wonderful experience.
